The East Alton parade on Roberts Cove Road was brought back to honor the 250th birthday of America and to remember Irving Roberts.

Do your best to follow the guidelines listed below so participants and viewers have a positive experience. Special thanks to Tom Roberts for coming East to make sure the calliope leads the way.

Several Associations have spent a great amount of money on new roads recently. Be advised that Silly String melts into the road and should not be used. Similarly, wrapped candy thrown from vehicles will melt into the road. There is also a concern for the safety of the children who run into the road to collect the candy. You are encouraged to be mindful of these issues as you prepare to participate.

In the past, water soakers have not been appreciated by those who view the parade. If you must continue to use these, please use common sense.

Since this is meant to be a community parade, commercial vehicles are discouraged.

STAGING:

Gather at the cemetery by Tom Road at 11:30. The parade will start promptly at noon. IN THE EVENT OF RAIN, THE PARADE IS CANCELLED.

As in the past, the parade will end at the field by the blinking light. Light refreshments will be provided for anyone who wants to attend.
